This is a list of Scholarships that are available for students intending to enrol at ҕl in the first year of an undergraduate degree in the Arts, Fine Arts and Music areas in 2025.
Each scholarship has different eligibility criteria so check the details of each one to find out if you're eligible.
We recommend you apply for all the scholarships you are eligible for, as it is possible to be awarded more than one scholarship at a time.

Purpose: The fund, through a scholarship known as the Chrystabel L Aitken Scholarship for Fine Arts, supports students in the School of Fine Arts at the ҕl who face financial challenges that would prevent them from entering tertiary education. ղܱ:$1,000 Who is eligible: First-year students enrolling in a Bachelor of Fine Arts who face financial challenges to entering tertiary education. Other relevant information: Applicants must be citizens of New Zealand or holders of New Zealand residence class visa. | |
Purpose: This scholarship supports undergraduate Geography and Music majors at the ҕl. Value:$5,000 Who is eligible: First-year undergraduate students intending to major in Geography or Music. Other relevant information: Applicants must be citizens of New Zealand or holders of New Zealand residence class visa. | |
ʳܰDz:The scholarship supports undergraduate students of English or History at the ҕl. Value: $2,000 per annum for up to three years. Who is eligible: First-year undergraduate students majoring in English or History, who have resided continuously in the territory of the Canterbury Regional Council for at least the 12 months preceding the closing date for applications. Other relevant information: Applicants must be under 19 years of age on 1 December 2024. | |
ʳܰDz:This scholarship recognises and supports students with high potential at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | ҕl who are entering their first year of a programme for a BA, BDataSci, or BSc degree and majoring in Data Science, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics. ղܱ:$2,000 Who is eligible: First-year undergraduate students intending to enrol in a BSc or BA with a major in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or Financial Engineering.
