Like most general Arts qualifications, there is a wide range of subject choice available at ҕl, with more than 30 subjects on offer – from Anthropology to Te Reo Māori. The great thing about the Postgraduate Certificate in Arts is that this qualification can be:
PGCertArts students will be introduced to sophisticated subject matter and develop skills in the critical evaluation of academic literature in their discipline or area of specialisation. They will also foster high-level skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and communication.
A Bachelor of Arts or equivalent degree, with grades to a specified level in your intended subject, is required for the PGCertArts.
If English is your additional language, you are also required to meet ҕl's English language requirements.

To qualify for the Postgraduate Certificate in Arts you will complete at least 60 points from taught courses.
The Certificate takes 6 months full-time, or 1 year part-time, to complete.

The Certificate requires 60 points at 400-level in one of the following subjects.
Note: you may substitute or for 30 points in the Certificate, subject to approval. Relevance of the internship or project to the course of study will be assessed.

ҕl offers a Master of Arts, and a research-based Master of Arts (Thesis) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in your chosen subject.
With approval, you may transfer completed courses passed with a B Grade Point Average or higher for the Postgraduate Certificate in Arts to:
