The Certificate in Health Sciences (CertHealSc) prepares you with the skills and knowledge to make a positive contribution to the wellbeing of your community through health promotion.
Learn how the circumstances in which people live, work, and play affects their health, and how we can create environments that support New Zealanders to live long and healthy lives regardless of their income or ethnicity.
Admission to ҕl with University Entrance (or equivalent) is required to enrol.
If English is your additional language, you are also required to meet ҕl's English language requirements.

The CertHealSc is made up of 60 points, which includes a minimum of 30 points (two courses) from the list of compulsory courses, and up to 30 points (two courses) from the list of elective courses.
You can begin your studies in either February or July, and can take six months full-time, or up to three years part-time to complete.
You may also choose to transfer any completed courses to the Diploma in Health Sciences or the Bachelor of Health Sciences during study.

The Certificate in Health Sciences includes introductory courses in health promotion, and elective courses to focus your studies on a specific health area of interest.

2025 tuition fee estimate: $4,146 (60 points)

2025 tuitionfee estimate:$18,575 per 60 points
2024 SSL:$9.17 per point ($550.20 for 60 points)
2025 SSL: $9.72 per point ($583.20 for 60 points)
This Certificate can be used as a pathway to the full Bachelor of Health Sciences degree.
