HOW TO APPLY

Learning about health promotion principles, oranga and wellbeing is about empowering our communities to take health back on their own terms, to celebrate wellness, define health their way and to give them the power to make change in the places where they live, work and play.

You will gain an understanding of key models and concepts in health promotion andbe able to identify why equity is a core value in health promotion, how we can create environments that support New Zealanders to live long and healthy lives regardless of their income or ethnicity.

On completion of yourCertificate or Diploma in Health Sciences, youwill be eligible to enrol in the BHSc majoring in health education or public health.

Undergraduate qualifications in Health Sciences

The following pathways offer an introduction into Health Sciences at ΢ҕl. Courses are delivered on campus, with some by distance study. This makes it easy to fit part time study around your work and other commitments. These pathways can also be studiedfull time.

The Certificate in Health Sciences (CertHealSc) is made up of 60 points, which includes a minimum of 30 points (two courses) from the list of compulsory courses, and up to 30 points (two courses) from the list of optional courses. Courses are delivered on campus,with some by distance study.
