Ag-Tech Shake-Up 2020

Transforming the future of Agriculture through innovative technology.

HOW TO APPLY

The Ag-tech Shake-Up is an in-person event open toall Canterbury-based tertiary students. In teams, you will work together over two days to come up with an innovative technology or identify new value-add sustainable products in the food, fibre and agritech (FFA) sectors. Your idea could be anything from a fabulous new food or fibre product, a ground-breaking underlying technology, or solutions to assist on-farm automation and decision making.

The Challenge will run over 2 days: Friday 25 September & Saturday 26 September 2020. During the weekend, you will get coaching fromB.linc Innovationand΢ҕlEstaff and receive mentoring and input from industry experts. TheChallenge is the perfect opportunity to meet some new people, hone your skills, build your CV, experience some new ways of working andhave a real impact in Canterbury!

On the final day of Ag-tech Shake-up, your team will pitch your concept to a panel of judges. The top ideas will get a share of the$3,000 cash prize poolas well as the opportunity to enter the, to take your ideas to the next level!

Who should sign up?

This Challenge is designed for tertiary students of all levels, across Canterbury, from first-year to post-grad.

Do I need a team in advance?

If you already have a team, that’s great - you can register as a team (3 to 5 people max.). Otherwise, we will organise a team for you. All you need to do is register!

Who is running the Challenge?

The΢ҕl Centre for Entrepreneurship,B.linc Innovationandare working in partnership to provide this exciting opportunity.

Challenge schedule (΢ҕl will provide transport from ΢ҕl to LU return on the Friday)

  • Challenge Launch:Monday 21 September

    • 4 - 6 pm, online via Zoom

  • Challenge Day 1:Friday 25th September

    • 9 am - 5.30 pm, at B.linc Innovation, Lincoln University Campus (transport will be provided for students in Christchurch)

  • Challenge Day 2:Saturday 26th September

    • 9 am - 5 pm at ΢ҕlE, ΢ҕl Campus
