Russian offers courses in the region'slanguage, culture, history, and society. These can be taken within Arts degrees or as a minor alongside other degrees.

NCRE Masters and Doctoral scholarships and awards
Students working on a thesis on a European-related topic are encouraged to apply for scholarships and awards offered by the National Centre for Research on Europe, which offers Domestic Fees Scholarships on a competitive basis and Research Awards to support bona fide research or conference expenses. Applications must contain a thesis proposal (1000 words for a masters thesis, 2000 words for a PhD thesis), and indication of support from the prospective supervising department, an official university academic record and a curriculum vitae. Applications normally close in September for the following year. For further information, contact the centre's Director,Professor Martin Holland, and consult the centre'sweb page.
Russian Ministry of Education and Science Scholarships
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation has launched three State Scholarships for New Zealand students to study in Russian federal state tertiary institutions.
The three scholarships are as follows:
Moscow Exchange
ҕl takes part in a vibrant exchange arrangement with the School of Translation and Interpretation at, which allows senior students from ҕl's Russian programme to spend a semester studying at the oldest and largest university in Russia. In exchange, senior students from MSU spend a semester at ҕl. Contact Russian staff for more information.
