The ‘fantastic five’ student-run clubs supported by ΢ҕlE all held their very successful launch events for 2020 recently. Whether you wanted to hear talks from accomplished speakers, get competitive in a Kahoot quiz, make and eat dumplings, or just chill out with a movie, these events offered something for everyone!

180 Degrees kicked things off with their Launch Night at the Shilling Club, featuring drinks, nibbles, and everyone’s favourite type of quiz - a Kahoot! The night was a great way for students interested in 180 Degrees’ consultancy programme to find out more before the club’s upcoming assessment evenings. ΢ҕl Women in Business celebrated their club’s first birthday with their Grand Launch. The night featured a chance to mingle over drinks and nibbles, plus talks from Kendall Flutey (Banqer) and Bre Poulter (Lend the Label). It was great to see John Britten packed out for the sell-out event! See more ΢ҕl Women in Business updates at.

The Latin America New Zealand Society’s (LANZSOC) first event for 2020 was a movie night held at ΢ҕlE. The attendees enjoyed a Spanish movie (with subtitles) and the popcorn and mocktails provided! Keep up with LANZSOC.

Next up was Entré’s Grand Launch, held in the Engineering Core foyer. The event involved speeches from Ally Callinicos, Entré’s 2020 CEO, Paul Ballentine, the chair of Entré’s board and the head of the ΢ҕl Business School, and Hannah Duder, Founder of Indigo & Iris and ΢ҕlE alumna. After the formalities, attendees enjoyed drinks, nibbles and live music from Castaway. See more Entré opportunities by.

Global China Connection Canterbury (GCC) finished off this flurry of events with their Re:Launch. Their event featured a talk fromLinda Bu from the ΢ҕl Business Taught Masters programme, and Chinese dumpling making (and eating!). Seefor more exciting events.
