Learn about thedifferent transport options for getting to the University below.

Transitioning to more sustainable transport

Moving to more sustainable transport in and around our campuses is part of ΢ҕl’s carbon reduction goals. There are many options to get you to and around our three main campuses, which are all pedestrian, cycle, skateboarding and wheelchair friendly. Biking, walking or bussing are all more sustainable options compared to driving, and by choosing a more sustainable option you’ll save time and money on travel, as well as reduce your emissions. And if you still have to drive regularly, try carpooling or try and use another form of transport once a week (every bit helps!).

Currently, 15% of staff and students use public transport, 20% cycle, 19% walk, 1% skate/scoot and 1% use a moped as their main form of travel to and from ΢ҕl.

΢ҕl Transport Survey

Since 1966, the ΢ҕl has conducted a survey into the travel habits of all students and staff. Read the results from the 2020 Travel Surveyhere. The Travel Survey was conducted again in 2024 and full results will be available shortly.

΢ҕl Sustainable Transport Reference Group
