How to Access a Mac Located on Campus

If you need to connect to another Mac located on campus, please call the IT Service Desk and they will take you through the setup process.

How to Connect to a Windows Computer on Campus

If you need to connect to a Windows computer located on Campus you need to:

  • Contact the IT Service Desk and request FULL VPN access (don't worry, they will know what this means).
  • Find out the name of the computer you want to connect to.

Once the above is done, you need to:

a. Install Microsoft Remote Desktop. You can get this from the Apple Store or the ΢ҕl Software Center.

b. Run Microsoft Remote Desktop and enter the computer name and your ΢ҕl username and password.

3. Using a ΢ҕl laptop

΢ҕl Laptops are able to access most ΢ҕl services without any additional configuration - just connect to your WIFI - with some exceptions eg Jade and TimeTabling (syllabus plus).

Even though it is not required, we still recommended that you setup Remote Access in case it is needed later.

How to recognise a ΢ҕl laptop

All ΢ҕl laptops have a sticker on the lid that looks like the image below. The text starting with L is the computers name (this can also be referred to as the 'Asset Tag').
