Lecture Notes Support

29 May 2024

(for students enrolled with TRW/SAS)

The Assistive Technology (AT) Team arranges notetakers for students who are unable to take notes in lectures. The provision of this service is for students enrolled with TRW|SAS. Students are expected to attend all lectures for which note-taking support is provided. If required, lecture notes can also be produced in an alternative format.

HOW TO APPLY

AT provides notes support to students registered with TRW|SAS services who experience difficulties in taking notes in lectures. AT provided lecture notes do not include information from lecture slides, handouts, class discussions, guest lectures, and students' presentations. Notes are not provided for labs, workshops, or intensive block courses but will be considered only under extenuating circumstances.

Notes support is not a substitute for attending lectures, and students receiving notes are expected to attend all lectures.

Requests for lecture notes should be made at least 2-3 weeks before the start of the semester so that notetaking can be arranged.

If requests for notes are received closer to the commencement of lectures, the process of arranging notes will be delayed and such late requests will be actioned as soon as practicable.

It is the student's responsibility to notify the Accessibility Advisor of any changes to their notetaking support needs. This includes changes/cancellations of courses.

AT lecture notes are uploaded onto the ΢ҕl's Learn site for students to access, view, and download independently.

Please keep in mind that at the beginning of a semester, it can take up to three weeks for notes to be uploaded to LEARN.

If you are still waiting for notes after this time, please contact your Accessibility Advisor directly.
