Go Waitaha Canterbury Scholarships

΢ҕloffers the exciting ‘Go Waitaha Canterbury’ scholarships to students with strong academic potential but who are facing challenges to affording university accommodation costs.

The ΢ҕlGo Waitaha Canterbury scholarship provides the ultimate all-round student living/learning community and opportunity to experience the very best of what Canterbury, Christchurch and this University have to offer. Enjoy a range of personal development opportunities and adventures as you explore and learn about our region.

Accommodation
  • $15,000 towards accommodation fees
  • Priority consideration for a place in a hall of residence

Personal Development
  • A range of personal development workshops and seminars
  • Professional and career development seminars and opportunities

Experiences
  • Educational outdoor recreational field trips showcasing the Ōtautahi Christchurch lifestyle.

Eligibility criteria:

Applicants must be Year 13 students or gap year students attending a school and/or living outside the Greater Christchurch area. Applicants must be eligible to receive ΢ҕlLink Student Allowance and recipients must be in receipt of a Student Allowance. Award is dependent on achievement of Merit or higher at NCEA Level 2, or an equivalent university entrance qualification.

At least two scholarships are reserved for each of the following: students who identify as Māori or Pacific or Rainbow or disabled people and students who will be registering with the University’s Te Ratonga Whaikaha | Student Accessibility Service.
