΢ҕl's Nelson Campus offers Teacher Education programmes so you can study locally and be part of school communities at the top of the South Island.

HOW TO APPLY

The ΢ҕl Nelson Campus offers theAko:Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Primary)degree. This three-year degree prepares you for a teaching career working with tamariki in primary, intermediate, middle and area schools.

Flexible delivery

TheAko: Bachelor of Teaching and Learningis offered by a mix of on-campus anddistance learning options.

  • You will have face-to-face classes for two days a week during term time, and also use online materials to support your learning.
  • Professional practice is undertaken at local schools, with which ΢ҕl has strong links.
  • Our small and supportive classes are delivered by lecturers who are committed to your learning and development - and who get to know you.

΢ҕl locally

΢ҕl's Nelson Campus is situated at 145 Collingwood Street. Our students come from the top of the South Island, including Richmond, Tasman, Motueka, Golden Bay and Marlborough.

While enjoying the benefits of studying at ΢ҕl, Nelson students also have access to all of NMIT’s facilities, including the cafeteria in the Student Centre, the Library Learning Centre and computer facilities such as the Fishbowl Computer Suite on the ground floor of the library.

The ΢ҕl Nelson Campus gives easy access to the beautiful Nelson region. It is located in the student area of the city, within walking distance of the CBD, cafes, art gallery and parks. Nelson is a small, friendly city with easily accessible services and offers a unique place to study while enjoying a special lifestyle. Nelson is a city for the arts and outdoor experiences.

The Nelson region is a favourite location for New Zealanders and overseas tourists alike. It offers beaches, easy access to the outdoors, cafes and a thriving arts community.
