Associate Professor Bronwyn Haywardis the only New Zealander among world experts appointed by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate change (IPCC) to author an investigation on the impacts of global warming of 1.5°C above preindustrial levels and related global greenhouse gas emission pathways. Assoc Prof Hayward will be using her expertise in the field of sustainable development, poverty eradication, and reducing inequalities. "We need interdisciplinary thinking to address complex issues. Arts and humanities training is vital to helping us understand some of the world’s most serious problems," she says.
Innovation and collaboration
ҕl Artshosts a number ofresearch centres. Among them is the National Centre for Research on Europe, ҕl CEISMIC Canterbury Earthquake Digital Archive, New Zealand Institute of Language, Brain and Behaviour and the NZ Centre for Human-Animal Studies. ҕl’s research centres collaborate innovatively with research partners, including many businesses and community organisations involved in the Waitaha Canterbury rebuild.
