΢ҕl's Child Well-being Research Institute sells readers and story books for young children. The readers have been designed to support class teaching activities as part of our Better Start Literacy Approach.

Better Start Literacy Approach (BSLA) Supplementary Readers

The Maggie Boston readers for young children have been designed to support class teaching activities as part of the Better Start Literacy Approach. The books can be used to supplement class small group reading instruction and/or for Tier 2 teaching within the Better Start Literacy Approach. These readers are a small book size 18cmx18cm.

Please note the Maggie Boston readers are currently in production. Pre-orders can be made at the Buy Now links below.

Price includes delivery to anywhere in New Zealand and orders are sent out from the University once a week. Please note, these products are not available for 'pickup'.

Words Can POP Children's Story Books

This selection of story booksfor young children have been designed to support the learning of early developing letters and sounds, and interesting words, in alignment with the Better Start Literacy Approach teaching. These stories are suitable for use at home, in early childcare centres and in school classrooms. Each book includes detailed reading notes on how to use the book to develop hildren's word knowledge, oral language, phonological awareness and print knowledge. Each set contains 1 copy of each of the A4 sized 16 titles in this series.

The titles contained in this series are:
