Intern at Avon Ōtakaro Network and New Zealand Police

HOW TO APPLY

"Getting to work alongside these organisations has been a great opportunity to implement what I have been learning at university in a real-world context."

LLB / BA: Major English, Minor PACE

"I first heard of PACE through a friend who was doing an internship course, hearing them talk about their internship experience got me interested and the rest is history!

What I love about PACE is that it is a great way to get a supported internship experience without the hassle of applying for hundreds of internship positions. I am currently studying towards a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in English, minoring in PACE. I have been fortunate to do two different PACE internships courses. One with Avon Ōtakaro Network as a summer school paper where I was helping with administrative tasks for an end of year event. The other was during the semester with the New Zealand Police where I was creating a research product about COVID-19. Getting to work alongside these organisations has been a great opportunity to implement what I have been learning at university in a real-world context. Both experiences gave me a taste of what work life may look like and it was great to see how I may use my degree in the future.

Doing PACE has been one of the best choices I’ve made at university, it is a great way to boost your CV and get that highly sought-after experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get the most of their degree."
