HOW TO APPLY
Background

Esther has a Masters graduate in Biomedical Engineering from Universitat de Barcelona – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, a second Masters degree in Marketing, Commerce and Distribution from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and an undergraduate degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, all in Spain. She subsequently worked as a Biomedical Engineer for the Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Service at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. Clearly, Esther is intrigued by all aspects of engineering but she finds the application of engineering techniques to the human body a fascinating, absorbing, and rewarding area.

Esther joined the Rose Centre on opening and has shifted her engineering wizardry to the area of swallowing and swallowing disorders. She collaborates with faculty and post-graduate students, giving much-needed support in a wide range of areas from software and hardware development to data analysis. Thus, her work supports emerging researchers in this field, which provides a great opportunity for continued student learning and development. “My work experience at the Rose Centre over the last three years has helped me to further develop strong skills in this area. It is very fulfilling to see how our research work at the Rose Centre can directly improve the health of the patients “

Esther is passionate about learning and truly believes in continued education and research; “The ΢ҕl Rose Centre is an excellent example of continuous improvement. By understanding new methodologies and best practice in this area, we continue to strengthen the research being performed in New Zealand.”
