Connor’s interests are in mathematical and computational modelling, hydrogeology, and machine learning. He holds a BE (hons) in Engineering Science from the University of Auckland. His research aims to understand the behaviour of nitrates in highly connected heterogenous aquifers such as in the Canterbury Plains. This involves using geostatistical tools such as multipoint statistics to conceptualize models of heterogeneity. Using these models, he plans to apply stochastic and surrogate methodologies to quantify the uncertainty intrinsic in the groundwater transport problem, including the risk of extreme events.
