Ariela acknowledges DevNet (ҕl New Zealand International Development Studies Network) as a recipient of the New Zealand Postgraduate Development Field Research Award (2023) for her data collection phase across Fiji, which included travelling to meet women groups of two of her three case studies in the provinces of Ba and Ra (Rise Beyond the Reef), and in the province of Nadroga Navosa (Bula Coffee).
Brief background: Ariela joined The Fiji Times newsroom in Suva (Fiji) after graduating high school, studying part time at the University of the South Pacific for her BA in Journalism and History Politics.
